One of the options available when cleaning folders is to clean file and folder names by removing or replacing specific characters, typically in preparation for copying the items to another disk or computer.

Each character shown can be replaced, removed, or left unchanged:

• Replace - To replace a character, enter the replacement character in the text box to the right of the character to be replaced and check the box to the left.
• Remove - To remove a character, leave the text box to the right of the character to be removed empty and check the box to the left.
• Ignore - If the box to the left of a character is not checked, that character will be ignored during the process of cleaning names.

The bevel button with the check mark in it contains predefined sets of characters. To check exactly those characters, choose the desired set from the menu that opens when you click the button.
